Creating and Setting Up Your Account
This guide walks you through creating your Findex account and getting your profile set up so everything is personalized to you.

Overview
Findex is a wealth management platform that gives you a complete view of your investments, liabilities, and net worth. To get started, you need to create an account using email and password, BankID (Sweden), or a supported third-party provider.
Signing Up
You can create a Findex account in three ways:
Option 1: Email & Password
Go to the Findex sign-up page.
Enter your email address.
Create a password and confirm it.
Accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Click Create Account (or Sign Up).
Check your email for a verification link and click it to activate your account.
You will be redirected to the Findex login page.

Tip: If you didn't receive a verification email, check your spam or junk folder. If it's not there, try signing up again with the same email address to trigger a new verification email.
Option 2: BankID (Sweden)
Go to the Findex sign-up page.
Click Sign up with BankID.
Complete the BankID authentication on your device.
Your account is created automatically — no password needed.
Note: If you sign up with BankID, you'll use BankID to log in each time. You won't need to set a separate password. BankID uses strong authentication, so you don't need to worry about setting up additional security.

Option 3: Third-Party Provider
Findex supports signing up through third-party authentication providers (such as Google or other OAuth2 providers).
Go to the Findex login page.
Click the provider button (e.g., Sign in with Google).
Authorize Findex in the provider's consent screen.
Your account is created and you will be logged in automatically.
Logging In
Once your account is created:
Go to the Findex login page.
Enter the email and password you used during sign-up (or use BankID/provider sign-in).
Click Log In.
If this is your first login, you will see an empty dashboard with a prompt to add your first asset.
Resetting Your Password
If you signed up with email and password and forgot your password:
On the login page, click Forgot Password.
Enter your registered email address.
Check your inbox for a password reset email.
Click the reset link and choose a new password.
Log in with your new password.
Completing Your Profile
Once your account is created, it's a good idea to fill out your profile. This helps Findex personalize your experience.
Click on Settings in the sidebar.
Go to the Profile tab.
Fill in the following fields:
First Name and Last Name
Country — Select your country from the dropdown.
Currency — Choose your preferred currency (SEK, EUR, USD, GBP, NOK, DKK, CHF, and more). This is the currency Findex will use to display all your portfolio values.
Click Save to apply your changes.

Uploading a Profile Picture
You can add a profile picture to personalize your account:
On the Profile settings page, click on the avatar area at the top.
Select an image from your device.
Your new profile picture will appear across the app.

Setting Your Preferred Currency
Your preferred currency determines how all values are displayed in Findex. If you have assets in different currencies, Findex will automatically convert them to your chosen currency using current exchange rates.
To change it:
Go to Settings > Profile.
Open the Currency dropdown.
Select your preferred currency.
Click Save.
Supported currencies include: SEK, EUR, USD, GBP, NOK, DKK, CHF, and more.
Tip: Choose your currency early — setting the right currency before adding assets makes your dashboard easier to read from the start.
FAQ
Q: I didn't receive a verification email. What should I do?
A: Check your spam or junk folder. If it's not there, try signing up again with the same email address to trigger a new verification email. Make sure you're checking the correct inbox.
Q: Can I sign up with a phone number instead of an email?
A: No. Findex requires an email address to create an account. Your email is used for verification, password resets, and important notifications.
Q: Can I change my email address after signing up?
A: The email you signed up with is your account identifier. If you need to change it, reach out to our team at team@findex.se.
Q: Is my data secure during sign-up?
A: Yes. Findex uses industry-standard authentication (Auth0) with encrypted connections to protect your credentials and personal data.
