Two-Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring a second form of verification when you log in. Here is what you need to know about 2FA on Findex.

Current Status

2FA is coming soon to Findex as a standalone feature. We are actively working on bringing additional two-factor authentication options to all users. Stay tuned for updates.

That said, many Findex users already have strong two-factor protection today -- read on to find out how.

BankID Users: You Already Have 2FA

If you sign in to Findex using BankID, you already benefit from built-in two-factor authentication. BankID requires both something you know (your credentials) and something you have (your mobile device), making it one of the most secure login methods available.

Nothing extra to set up -- just continue signing in with BankID as you normally do.

What to Expect When 2FA Launches

When we roll out 2FA for all accounts, here is what you can expect:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Security & Password in the Findex app

  2. Select your preferred 2FA method (details will be shared closer to launch)

  3. Follow the on-screen setup steps to link your second factor

  4. Confirm activation -- from that point on, each login will require both your password and your second factor

We will notify all users by email when 2FA becomes available.

Tips

  • BankID is recommended as your login method right now for the strongest security.

  • Keep your email address current so you are notified when 2FA launches. You can update it under Settings > My Profile.

  • Use a strong, unique password in the meantime to keep your account secure.

FAQ

Q: Do I need to do anything right now? A: If you log in with BankID, you are already covered. If you use email and password, we recommend using a strong, unique password until 2FA is available.

Q: Will 2FA be required for all users? A: We will share more details on this closer to launch. Our goal is to make 2FA as accessible and easy to use as possible.

Q: How will I know when 2FA is ready? A: We will send an email announcement and update this article when the feature goes live.
