How to Delete Liabilities
If you've paid off a loan, added something by mistake, or simply want to clean up your portfolio, you can delete liabilities from Findex. Here's how to remove one or many at a time.

Deleting a Single Liability
Go to Portfolio > Liabilities.
Find the liability you want to remove.
Right-click on the liability (or click the action menu).
Select Delete.
Confirm the deletion when prompted.

The liability will be removed from your portfolio, and your net worth will update automatically to reflect the change.
Deleting Multiple Liabilities
If you need to remove several liabilities at once:
Go to Portfolio > Liabilities.
Click the select mode button at the top of the list.
Check the boxes next to the liabilities you want to delete.
Click the Delete button.
Confirm the bulk deletion.

What Happens When You Delete
The liability is permanently removed from your portfolio.
Your net worth is recalculated — removing a liability will increase your net worth by the amount of the remaining debt.
Any documents attached to the liability will also be removed.
If the liability was linked to an investment, the link is removed, but the investment itself is not affected.
If the liability was imported from a provider, deleting it in Findex does not affect your actual bank account or loan agreement.
Paid Off a Loan?
Before deleting a fully paid liability, consider whether you want to keep it for your records. You can update the Already Amortized amount to match the full loan amount, which will set the remaining debt to zero. This way, the liability stays in your history without affecting your net worth.
Tips
Double-check before deleting — Deletion is permanent. Make sure you're removing the right liability.
Provider imports — If you delete a provider-imported liability and the provider connection is still active, the liability may reappear on the next sync. To prevent this, disconnect the provider first in Settings > Providers & Integrations.
Batch delete is your friend — If you're cleaning up after a major portfolio reorganization, use select mode to remove multiple entries at once.
