Data Deletion Requests and Right to be Forgotten

As a Findex user, you have the right to request the deletion of your personal data at any time. This is part of your rights under the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), often referred to as the "right to be forgotten."

How to Request Data Deletion

To have your personal data removed from Findex, follow these steps:

  1. Send an email to team@findex.se from the email address associated with your Findex account

  2. Use the subject line "Data Deletion Request"

  3. Include your full name and any other details that help us identify your account

  4. Let us know what you would like deleted -- you can request full account deletion or removal of specific data

  5. Our team will confirm your request via email and begin processing it

What Happens After You Submit a Request

  1. Acknowledgment -- We will confirm receipt of your request, typically within a few business days

  2. Verification -- We may ask you to verify your identity to protect your account from unauthorized deletion requests

  3. Processing -- Your data will be deleted within 30 days, as required by GDPR

  4. Confirmation -- Once the deletion is complete, we will send you a final confirmation email


What Gets Deleted

When you request full data deletion, the following will be removed:

  • Your Findex account and profile information

  • All connected provider data and portfolio history

  • Personal preferences and settings

  • Any documents you have uploaded

After deletion, you will no longer be able to log in to Findex or access any of your previous data.


Tips

  • This action is permanent. Once your data is deleted, it cannot be recovered. Make sure you have saved or exported anything you need before submitting your request.

  • Disconnect your providers first if you want to ensure linked accounts are cleanly unlinked before deletion. Go to Settings > Providers & Integrations.

  • You can request partial deletion if you only want specific data removed rather than your entire account.

  • You do not need to give a reason. Under GDPR, you have the right to request deletion without explanation.

Q: Can I undo a data deletion request? A: Once your data has been deleted, it cannot be restored. If you change your mind before processing is complete, contact us immediately at team@findex.se.

Q: How long does deletion take? A: We process all deletion requests within 30 days, as required by GDPR. Most requests are completed sooner.

Q: Will my data be deleted from third-party providers too? A: Findex will delete all data stored on our platform. Data held by your bank, broker, or other financial providers is managed by those providers directly.

Q: Can I create a new Findex account after deletion? A: Yes. You are welcome to sign up again at any time, but none of your previous data will be available.
