Updating Amortization
For manually added liabilities, keeping the Already Amortized field up to date is the key to accurate remaining debt tracking. Your remaining debt is calculated as:
Remaining Debt = (Amount x Quantity) - Already Amortized
You should update amortization when:
You've made a scheduled payment
You've made an extra lump-sum payment
You want to reconcile your balance with a bank statement
Simply edit the liability and update the Already Amortized field. Your remaining debt, yearly interest estimate, and net worth will all recalculate automatically.
Editing Provider-Imported Liabilities
Liabilities imported from connected providers are synced automatically, so most fields are updated during each sync cycle. However, you can still:
Rename the liability to something more recognizable
Add notes or additional context
Link the liability to a related investment
Attach documents such as loan agreements
Note: For provider-imported liabilities, values like remaining balance and interest rate are managed by the data sync. Manual edits to those fields may be overwritten on the next sync.

Tips
Update regularly — For manually tracked liabilities, try to update amortization amounts after each payment to keep your portfolio accurate.
Check your yearly interest — After editing the interest rate or amortized amount, verify that the yearly interest figure on the list page looks correct.
Link to an asset — If you haven't already, use the edit flow to link the liability to a related investment for a complete net equity view.
