Expired session for connected provider accounts
When you connect a bank or broker to Findex, the connection relies on an authenticated session with that provider. These sessions expire periodically for security reasons, which means you'll need to reconnect from time to time. Here's how it works and what to do.

Why Do Sessions Expire?
Financial providers require periodic re-authentication to protect your data. This is standard practice across the industry and not something specific to Findex. When a session expires:
Your portfolio data stops updating from that provider.
You may see a notification or warning in your account.
Your existing data remains safe -- nothing is lost or deleted.
How to Reconnect an Expired Session
Go to Settings > Providers & Integrations.
Look for any provider marked with an expired or disconnected status.
Click on the affected provider.
Follow the prompts to re-authenticate using your provider credentials or BankID.
Once completed, Findex will resume syncing your data automatically.

What Happens During an Expired Session?
While a session is expired:
Data syncing pauses for that provider. Your portfolio will show the last successfully synced data.
Other providers are unaffected. Each connection is independent, so your other accounts continue to sync normally.
No data is lost. Once you reconnect, Findex syncs the latest data and fills in any gaps.
How Often Do Sessions Expire?
Session duration varies by provider. Some banks and brokers require re-authentication every few days, while others may last several weeks. There's no universal schedule -- it depends on the security policies of each individual provider.
Tips
Act on notifications. When Findex detects an expired session, you'll typically see a notification. Reconnecting promptly keeps your portfolio data current.
Keep BankID ready. Many Swedish providers require BankID to re-authenticate, so have your phone nearby when reconnecting.
Bookmark the settings page. If you manage multiple providers, visiting Settings > Providers & Integrations regularly helps you catch expired sessions early.
Quick process. Reconnecting usually takes less than a minute -- it's the same flow you used when you first connected the provider.
