Core Financial Terms

Asset Anything of value that you own. In Findex, assets include stocks, cash, real estate, crypto, bonds, and alternatives. You can add and track all of them under Portfolio > Assets.

Liability A financial obligation or debt you owe. Mortgages, loans, and credit balances are common examples. Track these under Portfolio > Liabilities to get a complete picture of your finances.

Net Worth Your total assets minus your total liabilities. Findex calculates this automatically on your Dashboard, giving you a single number that represents your overall financial position.

ROI (Return on Investment) A measure of how much profit or loss an investment has generated relative to its cost. Expressed as a percentage, it helps you evaluate how well an asset is performing.

Diversification The practice of spreading your investments across different asset types, sectors, or geographies to reduce risk. Findex helps you visualize your diversification through portfolio allocation breakdowns.
