How to Disconnect Connected Provider Accounts

If you no longer want Findex to sync data from a particular bank or brokerage, you can disconnect that provider at any time. Disconnecting stops all future data syncs for that connection.

What Happens When You Disconnect

Before you disconnect, here is what to expect:

  • Data syncing stops -- Findex will no longer pull updates from that provider.

  • Previously imported data remains -- Your existing assets and liabilities from that provider stay in your portfolio. They are not automatically deleted.

  • Provider badge stays -- Imported assets will still show the provider badge, but they will no longer receive automatic updates.

  • You can reconnect later -- If you change your mind, you can always set up a new connection to the same provider.

Step-by-Step: Disconnecting a Provider

  1. Navigate to Settings > Providers & Integrations.

  2. Find the provider you want to disconnect in the list.

  3. Click on the provider to open its details, or look for the Disconnect option.

  1. Confirm that you want to disconnect.

  1. The provider will be removed from your active connections.

What About My Imported Assets?

After disconnecting, the assets and liabilities that were previously imported from that provider will remain in your portfolio. However, they will no longer be updated automatically.

You have a few options for these assets:

  • Keep them as-is -- They stay in your portfolio with their last synced values. You can update them manually if needed.

  • Edit them manually -- Update values, quantities, or details by hand going forward.

  • Delete them -- If you no longer want them in your portfolio, you can remove individual assets from Portfolio > Investments.

Reconnecting After Disconnecting

If you decide to reconnect the same provider later:

  1. Go to Settings > Providers & Integrations.

  2. Click Connect Provider.

  3. Select the same bank or brokerage and complete the authentication flow again.

Findex will re-import your holdings and resume regular data syncs.

Tips

  • Disconnect does not delete data -- Your imported assets remain unless you manually remove them.

  • Review before disconnecting -- Check how many assets are linked to that provider in Settings > Providers & Integrations so you know what will stop syncing.

  • You can always reconnect -- Disconnecting is not permanent. You can set up the connection again whenever you like.
